《Greenhouse Effect》는 서로 다른 시대와 문화권에서 가져온 이미지들을 화면 위에 배치한 디지털 드로잉 작업이다.  이 작업의 아이디어는 식물을 수집하고 가꾸는 취미에서 비롯되었다. 다양한 이미지를 수집하며 우리가 무엇을 아름답다고 여기고, 무엇을 선택하여 곁에 두는지에 대한 기준에 대해 생각해봤다. 우리가 고를 수 있는 것은 사실 제약이 많고 어떤 조건은 그냥 주어진다. 그날그날, 그때그때의 선택에 따라 모여진 것들이 삶의 장면을 구성한다. 이 작업도 비슷한 방식으로 만들어졌다. 화면 속의 꽃이며 풀은 진짜와 가짜가 섞여 있고, 서로 만날 일이 없던 대상들이 만나 하나의 생태계가 되어 있다. 

Greenhouse Effect is a digital drawing that brings together images from different eras and cultural backgrounds within a single composition. The idea for this work grew out of my hobby of collecting and caring for plants.

As I collected various images, I began to reflect on what we consider beautiful and how we decide what to keep close to us. In reality, our choices are often limited, and some circumstances are simply given. The things we gather through our day-to-day decisions come together to shape the scenes of our lives.

This work was created in much the same way. The flowers and plants in the image are a mixture of real and imaginary ones, while figures and objects that would otherwise never cross paths come together to form an ecosystem of their own.
